Citroen C3 Pluriel Sensodrive problems?

While in automatic mode, the display 'auto' will flash (above the figure showing the gear you are in). The car will not select gear or move. You lurch to the side of the road and only after a while, after turning off the engine & turning it on again can you engage gear. Has anyone had the same problem .. ?
